How should I choose a therapist?2021-06-26T03:08:02+00:00

Meeting with the therapist before beginning therapy for a consultation or interview is extremely important. Know that you are in the driver’s seat – you are allowed to consider different therapists and counselors to find a good fit for you. Be sure to choose someone who you feel safe and comfortable with – since you’ll be sharing deep parts of yourself with this person, you’ll want to feel respected and understood by them. Get a sense of their background and experience and have them explain how they approach helping their clients. Does this sound like an approach you’re comfortable with? Ask any questions you have and be upfront about your concerns. Most importantly, trust your gut; if you’re not comfortable, it’s okay to continue the interviewing process.

What are your credentials?2021-06-26T02:50:59+00:00

• Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University
• Master of Teaching degree from Manhattanville College
• Continuation of advanced, post-graduate training in Psychotherapy

How much do therapy sessions cost?2021-06-26T02:52:20+00:00

Individual sessions are $125 for a standard 50-minute session. I also offer longer sessions when appropriate, and often encourage couples to attend 80-minute sessions whenever possible.

How can I make an appointment?2021-06-14T14:52:29+00:00

You may do this in two ways. You may contact me and make an appointment online or you may also call me at (914) 768-9114.

How often should I have a session?2021-06-26T03:09:16+00:00

That depends on your reason for therapy, and your level of discomfort. Most clients are seen every week in the beginning, and as treatment progresses, less frequently over time. Some clients come several times a week in the beginning to lay groundwork, or when in crisis. We want you to come as often or as rarely as best suits your situation.
